Mission Trips
Mission Trips

In addition to supporting permanent missions throughout the U.S. and around the World, members of Living Hope Community Church take part in mission trips. These trips are decided upon after prayerful consideration by the missions team and paid for by fundraising efforts including brat fry’s, Valentine’s Day meals, and worship nights. Recent mission trips include Haiti and Zuni, New Mexico.

Roger and Susan Scheenstra
Roger and Susan Scheenstra

For over 35 years the Scheenstras have been working with a team of Kenyan Missionaries to make disciples and meet the spiritual and physical needs of a semi-nomadic unreached people group living in a remote area of Kenya. These people have very limited resources. Few know how to read and write. They suffer from periodic malnourishment, scurvy, and a high rate of childhood mortality. The spiritual needs of the people in the community are even greater as 99% of the people are Muslim.

Sue, a registered nurse, helps direct two local medical clinics and is involved in community health programs. Roger, an agronomist, works in community development and assists with drilling wells and water needs. At every opportunity, they share God’s word.

Please pray:

  1. That every interaction the Scheenstra’s have with the people they have come to know and love will draw them closer to Jesus.
  2. For those who have accepted Jesus will grow in the faith and make more disciples.
  3. For the Holy Spirit to empower the whole missionary team and that many of the people in the area will respond to the Good News and accept Jesus as their Savior.

Fox Lake Food Pantry

Hunger is a real, but often an overlooked problem in our community. The Fox Lake Community Food Pantry exists to serve people living in the Fox Lake, WI and surrounding communities who are experiencing hard times and need some extra assistance with food and other basic living essentials.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
